If you are sending a gift to a deployed service member, or buying a made-to-order gift for a veteran at home, the Christmas math is different from Amazon math. Here are the dates that matter in 2026, how we calculate our own order-by dates, and the one rule that saves most people: military mail needs a month.
USPS 2026 holiday send-by dates
These are the dates the U.S. Postal Service publishes for expected delivery by December 25. They are the day the package has to be in the mail, not the day you order.

Why made-to-order gifts need an earlier date
Everything Mil Apparel sells is printed when you order it. That is the point: no warehouse, no leftover sizes, a design that gets made for one person. It also means the clock has two parts: production (2 to 5 business days, up to 7 in peak December weeks) and transit. Our public order-by dates add a buffer on top of the USPS dates above so one slow week does not cost you the gift.

Shipping to an APO, FPO or DPO address
- Use the USPS military address format. The service member's full name, unit and box number, then the city line is APO, FPO or DPO, the state is AA, AE or AP, and the ZIP is theirs. Do not write the country.
- Order by November 20 for a Christmas arrival with Priority Mail, and allow 7 to 21 extra days beyond domestic transit at any time of year.
- Ship flat, soft goods. Tees and hoodies travel well and clear customs forms easily. Keep a copy of the tracking number; military mail tracking often pauses once it leaves the U.S. sorting facility and resumes on delivery.
- Put a note in the box. Add a gift note at checkout and we include your message in the shipping confirmation we send you, so the recipient knows who it is from even if the packing slip gets separated.
If you miss a date
Email support@milapparel.com before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it can make it. If it cannot, a printed note that says the gift is on the way, with a photo of the design, has saved more than one Christmas morning.
